 the Maggie Message
So anything said in this
column is
my opinion not necessarily shared by the club, although hopefully it is.
Welcome to May.
What can I say? Competition is over. Finished. Complete. So you can quit
holding your breath and relax now, maybe sleep in on a Sunday morning.
The teens did a brilliant job and I'm definitely proud of them. Results
are here.
Be sure to check back here soon for some upcoming dates. I know the
board has something fun planned each month. If you're not a dancer yet
but want to check out what our community of dancers has to offer, that
would also be a fine time to meet everyone.
We're still dancing until the school year ends. Even with competition
over, there is still much to learn. Our was-novice square (no longer
novice) is now learning plus!
So, low and behold, you've reached the end of this reading. If this is your first time at the Shirts-n-Skirts website,
welcome! Yep. Most welcome indeed.
[she claps her feet
and
actually wraps it up]

Square Dancing Today
Yep. Square dancing is still something that happens
all the time, especially in Washington state. It's a lot of fun, but
definitely not the same-old hoedown you might have seen in the movies.
It's challenging and a great way to spend an evening. Shirts-n-Skirts is
a teen club that meets in Bothell, Washington. We gather on Wednesday
nights for a fun packed night. Nights aren't just filled with square
dancing, but line and round dancing. Round dancing involves ballroom
dances that you've heard of before such as the two step, cha cha, waltz,
jive, quick step, and a few others.
To see what it's all about, just stop by one
evening. Your first night would be free just to see what what's going on.
You've got nothing to loose and are guaranteed to get a few laughs and
make a few friends. We're ever-changing and filled with teens from all
walks of life.
Just take a look at a few of our pages and see what
we're up to. |
